Being self motivated having taught myself Maya ,whilst working part time in the evenings, I’m Currently producing 3d computer animation using Maya called, UGG The Ogre, developing animation skills to model with polygons, nurbs & inorganic props with subdivision surfaces.
Creating Skeleton Chains for rigs working with both inverse & forward kinematics. Using blend shapes & set driven keys to create muscles & character deformations for lip synch, skinning of the character, creating dynamic effects with hair & cloth, animating UGG , creating sets, Lighting, texturing & rendering.
Whilst understanding production pipelines. Producing textures in Photoshop CS3 for eyes & other surfaces, Also composting in After Effects CS3 & editing in Premiere CS4 for the final C. G animation.
For my next project Mud box will help me produce Hyper Realistic models increasing workflow for future animations.

ooo I know how it is with the self taught path. very very hard and frustrating.I'm also teaching myself maya. Long hard road but it will surely be rewarding. Keep working hard. would love to see your animation when its done. I've plugged your blog into my RSS reader. pass by my bog sometime when you've got time. We could support each other when times get rough lol
